As the public prosecutor’s office in Cottbus and the South Brandenburg police department announced on Monday afternoon, “it can most likely be assumed that the father of the family, who is listed as the author of the suicide note, killed his wife and their three children and subsequently committed suicide” .

No signs of forced entry were found in the house. A firearm was found, neither the man nor the woman are said to have had a gun license.

An autopsy was ordered, with results to be expected in a few days, it said.

Königs Wusterhausen: parents and three children dead – investigators find suicide note in the house

Dead were discovered on Saturday

Investigators say that a neighbor checked on the family at 11:39 a.m. on Saturday. That’s why he entered the house. On the first floor he discovered three “lifeless people.”

The neighbor immediately left the house and alerted the police. Officials arrived at the house at noon. They then discovered two more bodies in the family home.

The five dead were an entire family: Father Devid (40) and mother Linda (40) R. and their three girls: Leni (10), Janni (8) and the youngest Rubi (4).

One of the children was apparently stabbed to death. The girl had corresponding wounds, the investigators said. All other family members “had gunshot wounds,” the investigators said.

As BILD also learned from investigators, “the family was in quarantine at home due to a confirmed Covid-19 infection”.

When the Covid infection became known in the family and since when it has been in quarantine is still open.

On Friday afternoon, neighbors claim to have seen family man Devid R. in front of the house loading his VW Crafters.
