Hikers sounded the alarm

“Visibly lost”, the sixty-year-old who was accompanied by a woman in her thirties, was walking on a steep path when the accident took place. The man slipped and fell, killing him instantly, according to the High-Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) of Isère, which intervened. Her friend being deprived of a telephone network, it was other hikers who raised the alert.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Savoie, a runner participating in one of the running races organized on the sidelines of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc also died following a fall.
