Fatal drowning of a four-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man

Two people died of drowning on Sunday in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The firefighters intervened at the end of the afternoon to rescue a four-year-old girl in the Gouleyrous gorges, near Tautavel. Despite the efforts of witnesses, then firefighters, she could not be revived.

An hour earlier, a 35-year-old man was extracted from the Mediterranean by witnesses, in Canet-en-Roussillon, a town located about ten kilometers from Perpignan. Here again, the cardiac massages performed by the rescuers proved to be in vain.

The search continued to find a minor with whom the victim seemed to have played a little earlier, according to witnesses. This child has not been found.
