Change in leadership at Zara parent company Inditex: The daughter of company founder Amancio Ortega, Marta Ortega, will take over the chairmanship of the board of directors in April, announced the Spanish fashion group. This completes a generation change that her father initiated about ten years ago. At that time, Amancio Ortega handed over the management of the Board of Directors to Pablo Isla, who is now making room for Marta Ortega. According to Inditex, the 37-year-old has held various corporate positions over the past 15 years. She herself declared that she wanted to build on her parents’ legacy, look to the future and learn from the past at the same time. Parallel to their rise, the largest listed company in Spain with its brands Zara, Massimo Dutti and Bershka is also changing its CEO: Oscar Garcia Maceiras, chief advisor at Inditex since March, is to replace the incumbent CEO Carlos Crespo.
