Farmer protests: What did the demonstrations achieve? Conclusion from a participant – Bavaria

Berlin, Munich, Weilheim – Sara Stürzer from Starnberg was there at the demonstrations everywhere. Their conclusion: Something has changed socially, but politics is still lagging behind.

Did the winter farmers’ protests achieve anything? A big, difficult question. But Sara Stürzer doesn’t have to think twice. “Yes and no,” she says with a determination that amazes with this answer. And Stürzer immediately makes it clear what she means. Yes, something has changed in terms of society, she thinks. There is now more appreciation and understanding for their profession. But at the political level, the farmers did not get through as hoped. “There is still room for improvement,” says Stürzer. She is doing a lot to change that – apart from tractor demonstrations and road blockades.
