Farewell to Anne Will

On Sunday evening, Anne Will led the political talk named after her on the first one for the last time. What will happen in the future?
An era of political talk is over. After 16 years and 553 broadcasts, the popular presenter took the lead Anne Will (57) on Sunday evening, December 3rd, one last time through the discussion group named after her on the first. Will’s farewell speech was entitled “The world in disorder – is Germany up to the challenges?” Among others, the Federal Minister of Economics and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck (54) was invited.
After the actual political discussion ended, Will first received a “thank you” from her guest Navid Kermani (56), a writer and journalist, before Green Party politician Habeck also thanked her for “16 years of enlightenment,” which, in his opinion, “formed the style “were.

The presenter then addressed her viewers directly on the first. She thanked her for the “great trust and interest” shown in her. Looking back, the time spent together with her audience represents a “joy” and “real honor” for Will, even if the latter “may sound a little pathetic” in her opinion, as the 57-year-old added in her usual matter-of-fact way.
In the same breath, Will confirmed that she would continue her collaboration with NDR and ARD. However, it is not yet known exactly what this further cooperation will look like. Presenter Will received several bouquets of flowers from her team as a thank you and farewell. A highlight clip from the subsequent “Tagesthemen” recalled memorable moments from 16 years of their show.
Caren Miosga takes over Anne Will’s slot
From 2024, viewers will be able to see the former “Tagesthemen” presenter Caren Miosga (54) on Sunday evenings in the previous “Anne Will” slot. She will be following in Will’s footsteps from the end of January. So far, your show will have the working title “Miosga”. An exact broadcast date has not yet been set.
“Maischberger”, “Markus Lanz” and Co.: political talks are taking a winter break
The other popular political talk shows on public channels are taking a short break over Christmas 2023 and the turn of the year. Sandra Maischberger (57) will be presenting “Maischberger” on Erste for the last time this year on Wednesday, December 6th. On January 9, 2024, the journalist will return to the screens with a new issue.
Louis Klamroth (34) will host one last “Hard but Fair” program for this year on Monday, December 11th. The political talk will not continue until the end of January 2024. An exact broadcast date has not yet been set.
The political talks on Second German Television are also taking a break. Maybrit Illner (58) will be running through her format one last time on ZDF on December 14th and will return with a new edition on January 11th, 2024.
Markus Lanz (54) will be on air for the last time this year on December 21st and will be back in front of the camera on January 9th with a new edition of “Markus Lanz”. In addition, the presenter will also present his annual review “Markus Lanz – The Year 2023” on ZDF on Wednesday, December 13th.
