Fake video: Israeli TV broadcaster shows Star Wars video in Ukraine report

That shouldn’t have happened to the Israeli TV station “Channel 13”. In a report, the broadcaster shows images of the war in Ukraine, the video shows destroyed streets. In the middle, a video is played, which is said to have been filmed by a Ukrainian who was fleeing Kyiv. However, the clip is an advertisement from 2014.
You can see two planes shot down on a highway. The problem: The planes shot down are TIE fighters, known from the Star Wars universe. Next to it are two Stormtroopers. Here the Israeli broadcaster made a big faux pas. The video dates from 2014 – it is one of several advertising videos with which the pay TV broadcaster “Sky” drew attention to his program. The scenes were filmed in Germany.
