With his social media comments and statements, Faisal Kawusi causes anger on the internet. Quite a few demanded a reaction from Sat.1. Now the broadcaster has spoken.

Joyce Ilg’s knock-out joke on a photo of himself and Luke Mockridge continues to generate outrage – particularly Faisal Kawusi’s statement and a comment he penned.

Faisal Kawusi: Sat.1 distances itself from comedian

Joyce Ilg wrote about a photo of herself and Luke Mockridge last Easter Sunday: “Did any of you find eggs here? I only got a few knockout drops.” A reference to a joke from Mockridge’s earlier stage performances. But not only that. Mockridge’s past also played a role in the criticism of Ilg’s saying. An ex-girlfriend accused Mockridge of attempted rape, the case was dropped. He denies the allegations. “The mirror” reported extensively last year on the comedian’s alleged misconduct. He also denies these allegations.

“I almost died from knockout drops. Not cool, Joyce. Again,” commented songwriter Silvi Carlsson on Ilg’s photo, whereupon Kawusi replied with her own comment: “Next time I’ll increase the dose, I promise,” wrote the 30 -year-olds. In the meantime, the comedian has apologized in his Instagram story for his “statement made” and announced that he will withdraw from social media for the time being.

no more shows

After many requests, his former in-house broadcaster Sat.1 felt compelled to clearly distance himself from the comedian. “Noted. Faisal Kawusi hasn’t had his own show on Sat.1 for 2 years. With celebrity baking last fall, #SAT1 clearly ended the collaboration with Faisal Kawusi. For reasons. And of course it stays that way,” the broadcaster wrote on Twitter .

Kawusi had criticized the broadcaster at the beginning of the year because Sat.1 had cut his singing of the Afghan national anthem from the program “Das Große Promibacken”. “I am deeply hurt because the whole team felt the pain in my words,” he said at the time.

A background that author Jasmina Kuhnke comments on extremely critically. “Dear Sat.1 team, I would be very interested to know why it is not a problem for Faisal to end the collaboration, but you still do not comment on Luke and Joyce. It may also be because K. is not white ? It’s striking,” she writes under the broadcaster’s statement, adding: “And isn’t it the case that the collaboration ended because of Kawusi’s criticism of the broadcaster’s (racist) behavior? I don’t want to defend the man, it would just be It would be nice if you could see a strict and equal treatment on your part.”
