Faisal Kawusi shared an emotional message about Afghanistan on “The Big Celebrity Baking”. The comedian sharply criticized how the broadcaster Sat.1 dealt with it. On Instagram he is upset and disappointed.
Faisal Kawusi vented his anger on Instagram. The occasion is the episode of “Das Große Promibacken”, in which Kawusi took part. In Monday’s broadcast, the 30-year-old comedian of Afghan descent shared an emotional message with the audience.
He decorated his cake in the Afghan national colors of black, red and green. For him it is probably the most important cake he makes in this competition. Kawusi explained the colors: “The black stands for the dark past that the country has lived through, the red stands for the blood that was spilled, the green stands for a hopeful future that is difficult today.”
It’s more than a cake. It was “a message” for Germany, the whole world and for Afghanistan: “We haven’t forgotten you,” said Kawusi, visibly moved. He shared a raw version of the scene on Instagram.
After his moving message, he sings the Afghan national anthem in the clip. However, it was not seen on TV. Kawusi shares his disappointment with Instagram. He demands a public statement from Sat.1.
Faisal Kuwasi: “I absolutely cannot understand it”
“I am deeply disappointed that the part of my singing was cut out,” writes Kawusi. He couldn’t understand it at all. Production reasons were given to him beforehand, but now that he’s seen it, he has no understanding whatsoever. “I am deeply hurt because the whole team felt the pain in my words.” The artist in him is deeply hurt, as if part of his painting had literally been cut away.
And he continues to write in the direction of the broadcaster: “Unfortunately, you took the soul out of the whole thing, I think that’s really shitty.”
The editorial network Germany, citing the news agency Teleschau, quotes Sat.1 spokeswoman Christiane Maske: “Faisal Kawusi made a special statement for his homeland in ‘Das Große Promibacken’ with his Afghanistan cake and the explanations about it. We have shown that in detail .” However, it was decided to cut out the singing of the Afghan national anthem. It is therefore not explained why the sender decided to take the step. The reasons for Faisal Kawusi were “explained in great detail”.
