The Landshut Dean Nina Lubomierski put it in a nutshell: Many went to Munich in the hope “that it could become a historic synod,” she said on Tuesday in front of the Bavarian Evangelical Church Parliament. For example, the 106 members of the state synod present could have elected a woman to head the evangelical church in Bavaria for the first time. Historically, this synod then became real, “but a bit different,” according to Lubomierski.
