Ezra Miller and his double set out to conquer a multiverse populated by guest stars

The Flash by Andy Muschietti, the director of That, offers an opportunity to take a double dose of Ezra Miller. The actor, who has specialized in the roles of teenagers who feel bad about themselves since We Need To Talk About Kevin, The perks of Being a Wallflower And Fantastic Beastsembodies the hero and his double who cross paths in the same world following a reckless manipulation of time.

“Ezra Miller’s performance impressed me,” admits Andy Muschietti to 20 minutes. I often had the impression of having two different actors in front of me, so subtle was Ezra in his way of approaching each of the two characters. The first, a little too sure of himself, masters his powers but has made the big mistake of wanting to change his past. The second, a schoolboy booby, does not know that he will be a superhero and lives his life in a carefree way. Their meeting is obviously not easy, especially since the world is threatened by General Zod, an evil extraterrestrial who will destroy humans if his worst enemy, a refugee among the earthlings, is not delivered to him.

surprises and challenges

“The biggest challenge was to develop the visual universes of the different multiverses that had to be completely created,” explains the director. Everything had to be clear at night for the spectators so that they never felt lost. And the public to discover worlds where fans of DC comics will be particularly happy. Each detail reserves its share of very pleasing quotes where incarnations of the different characters are reborn.

Following Ezra Miller, the public discovers varied universes populated by stars and superheroes that it would be a shame to mention. “It was one of the challenges of the film to bring them together in the same film”, laughs Andy Muschietti who admits to hoping that no one will come to spoil the surprise of the fans by revealing the identity of the guests. The pleasure is immense because the enthusiasm of the authors for this universe is very infectious. It happens that we are touched in the heart by certain reappearances. “I wanted the film to stir up many emotions,” says the director. We guarantee that some passages shocked us and that they largely justify going to see The Flash.
