More than 100 officials searched the homes of five men in Dresden. The first interrogations of the accused have now been completed.

After the raid on six members of a Telegram chat group because of death threats against Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU), the first interrogations have been completed.

A spokesman for the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Sachsen Morgen could not say whether the accused provided information. The interviews would continue and the evidence seized would be evaluated. “We will then see if there is any follow-up.” According to him, the group called “Dresden Offline Networking” has over 100 members.

Around 140 officials yesterday searched the apartments of the five men between 32 and 64 years and a 34-year-old in Dresden as well as another property in Heidenau (Saxon Switzerland). Three crossbows, weapons and weapon parts were also found, and cell phones, computers and storage media were seized. The searches lasted until late afternoon. Around 140 officers were involved in the operation, including special forces from the LKA.

The accused are suspected of having prepared a serious act of violence that endangers the state. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Germans are united by their rejection of vaccinations, the state and the current Corona policy. You are said to have expressed plans to commit murder against Kretschmer and other representatives of the state government in chat and at real meetings. The investigators were aware of the death threats in the Telegram communications service through a report in the ZDF magazine “Frontal” last week.
