Since last week, the German extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann has been cycling through the USA. Not only does he want to cross the country on two wheels, he also wants to walk back afterwards.

The German athlete Jonas Deichmann has already covered more than 1000 kilometers on his USA tour. The 36-year-old rode his bike on Wednesday (local time) on country roads in the Ohio state, as could be seen on his website. Instagram posts showed his driving through fields towards the state of Indiana, which he is expected to cross on Thursday. In the past few days, the man, who usually sleeps at night in a small tent by the side of the trail, had already crossed the Appalachian Mountains on the east coast.

Deichmann started in New York on Friday. The athlete, who has already crossed several continents by bike, wants to cycle to the Pacific coast of the USA in around three and a half weeks. From there, the “German Forrest Gump” wants to walk all the way back in about 100 days.
