Expansion – Delivery Hero buys – economy


The food delivery service Delivery Hero is investing in the British competitor Deliveroo. The company announced that it had acquired 5.09 percent of Deliveroo shares. Deliveroo – Amazon also has a stake in the company – and Delivery Hero did not want to name further details such as the purchase price. The Deliveroo share has meanwhile climbed by more than nine percent to 356 pence, the highest level since the stock market debut in March. The Dax group Delivery Hero, which should have paid more than 300 million euros for the share, lost more than one percent. About the stake, Delivery Hero said it was always on the lookout for new investment opportunities. Delivery Hero has a history when it comes to investing in competitors. The company holds more than seven percent of Just Eat Takeaway and is also on board with Rappi and Zomato in India and Glovo from Spain.
