In Upper Bavaria, a stranger exposed nine exotic snakes in a forest area. The animals, including several royal pythons, a reticulated python and a boa constrictor, then froze to death. According to the police on Monday, it can be assumed that the exposed snakes were still alive and then died from the winter cold.
On Saturday, a hunter discovered the dead snakes in his area near Rohrbach (Pfaffenhofen/Ilm district). Some animals were completely white or partially spotted albino variants, the police reported. “Because the animals were partially covered with snow, it is assumed that they had been released during the last week or even before.” It is now being determined for an offense under the Animal Welfare Act. The police in Pfaffenhofen are hoping for evidence from witnesses in order to catch the perpetrator.
