Exhibition: the creator of the English Garden Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell – Munich

The exhibition with which the Bavarian Palace Administration in the Residenz honors the “most important German garden artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries” (press release) is not particularly large. You could also easily miss the turnoff into the hall of the special show if Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell (1750-1823) himself wasn’t standing at the entrance door. In his hands, the cardboard doppelganger carries his trademark, the man-sized drawing stick he invented.
