Exhibition on the Warsaw Ghetto in the NS Documentation Center in Munich – Culture

By the middle of 1943, nothing was left of the Warsaw ghetto and its inhabitants. A fifth of the nearly 500,000 people walled in by the German occupiers over three square kilometers starved to death or died of disease. 350,000 were taken to concentration camps, killed and burned. The last residents who had the strength to start an uprising in 1943 were shot. Then the Germans destroyed all the houses until only a lunar landscape of bricks remained.
