Exhibition of fifty works by Vincent van Gogh in Amsterdam – Culture

A gray-blue village crouches between rain-drenched fields. A ghostly couple stand rigid in the undergrowth between columnar trees. Crows soar into the sky like soot-blackened paper on an updraft. Vincent van Gogh painted all of this in the weeks leading up to his death from self-harm on July 29, 1890.
