Boris Becker is currently in prison in the UK and could soon be released and deported. Meanwhile, something else is coming up: a documentary about the former tennis star on Apple TV+.

Parallel to speculation about the release of former tennis star Boris Becker from British prison, the streaming service Apple TV + has announced a documentary about the 55-year-old. It was initially unclear when exactly the two-part series, which does not yet have a title, should be published. It is based on three years of exclusive access to Becker and will shed light on “all aspects of the man”, it said in a statement.

In a short trailer, Boris Becker can be seen with red eyes, who stated a few days before the sentencing at the end of April: “I’ve reached my lowest point. I’ll see what I can do with it.” The short clip ends with the words: “It’s Wednesday afternoon, on Friday I will know the rest of my life.” According to British media reports, Becker’s release and immediate deportation is imminent.

Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by a London court at the end of April because he had concealed assets worth millions in his bankruptcy proceedings. However, he should benefit from a special rule according to which foreign prisoners in Great Britain can be released and deported a year earlier than usual. This is expected to happen before Christmas.
