Axel Schulz almost became the heavyweight boxing world champion. Now he’s marketing himself. A conversation about barbecue sauces, the advantages of Frankfurt an der Oder and being alone after defeat.

Axel Schulz, 53, would have preferred to speak personally. “I prefer when I see who I have in front of me,” he says. Schulz, the former professional boxer, is now a successful entrepreneur. There are more than 50 products in German supermarkets, from sausages to protein drinks, for which he holds out his head. In the video interview he shows that he wasn’t just good at boxing.
