Ex-president to pay $5 million for sexual assault and defamation

The jury deliberated for less than three hours. Unanimously, the nine jurors in this civil trial found that Donald Trump was responsible for the sexual assault of E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s, in the fitting room of a New York department store, and then defamed her. The former president will have to pay a total of 5 million dollars to the ex-columnist in damages. The jury, on the other hand, found that the sexual assault could not be qualified as rape.

“This verdict is a disgrace. I have no idea who this woman is,” Donald Trump immediately denounced on Truth Social.
