Former NFL pro Derek Wolfe is an avid hobby hunter. He recently killed a large cougar and shared a picture of himself and the mountain lion he killed. This brings him a lot of criticism.
The mountain lion in the picture is impressive. With a length of 180 centimeters and a weight of 91 kilograms, it is one of the largest specimens of its kind. Former football pro Derek Wolfe, who won the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos in 2016, holds the dead animal in his arms, on the fur the puma’s blood is clearly visible.
Since Wolfe posted the picture of himself and the killed animal on Instagram, he has had to listen to a lot of criticism. It’s not right that he killed the puma. “You’re disgusting, Derek Wolfe, a disgusting killer of animals smarter than you,” Twitter user Frances writes about the trophy photo.

In the Instagram post, Wolf explained how the hunt came about: Last Tuesday he received a call from a resident of the US state of Colorado. A huge mountain lion is up to mischief in the area, causing chaos and killing two of the woman’s dogs. The big cat lives under her porch, she is “nervous about what he would do next”.
Wolfe started the hunt, but all he found at first was a freshly killed deer carcass. When the 32-year-old caught the mountain lion after a long search, he killed the animal with a bow and arrow. “Then I had to back him down the mountain to get him to the truck, falling ten feet off a rock face on the way down,” Wolfe claimed.

Wolfe not only received criticism for his picture. Many users congratulated him on the hunting success. According to the website “TMZ Sports”, the authorities in Colorado confirmed that Wolfe has a corresponding hunting license and that he legally killed the mountain lion. The report was also properly filed.
“I love to hunt deer and elk, and mountain lions kill deer and elk, and adult male mountain lions kill female mountain lion cubs to get them back into heat,” Wolfe said on his Drive podcast about the cougar hunt .. He also emphasized that it was necessary for safety reasons to kill the animal.
