Star midfielder James Rodriguez doesn’t see his long-term future in Qatar. The US, on the other hand, says more to him.

After less than half a year in Qatar, ex-Bayern star James Rodriguez is already openly saying goodbye. The Colombian, who joined Al-Rayyan from Everton five months ago, explained in one Twitter-Stream: “How long in Qatar? I don’t know. You can never tell what will happen. But I’d like to go somewhere else.”

James was also already thinking aloud about possible destinations: “I would like to return to Europe, why not. I have the prerequisites, I’ll get into a rhythm and will wait and see what happens. Another good option is to go to the USA go. I like it very much, but there is still time for that.”

James Rodriguez’s contract in Qatar runs until 2024

James is under contract with the ninth-placed player in the Qatar Stars League until 2024. A few months ago, Al-Rayyan transferred eight million euros to Everton for the 30-year-old. Since then, James has played in nine games, scoring three goals and four assists.

In Europe, before joining Everton, the 2014 World Cup top scorer played for Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid and FC Bayern, to whom he was loaned between 2017 and 2019.
