A 6-year-old child drowned this Thursday, May 9 in the swimming pool of a campsite located in Saint-Germain-sur-Ay in the Manche department. The little boy was staying here for a few days with his family from Calvados, according to information from France 3 Normandy.
Accidental death?
Emergency services, including a helicopter, went to the scene of the accident to transport the victim to hospital according to West Francebut they failed to save the child.
“Everyone is in shock, it looks like an unfortunate accident“, indicates Coutance prosecutor Gauthier Poupeau. The latter, however, affirms that an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
