Everyday inventions: Joachim Fielder in an interview about magnetic closures

From musician to power inventor: Because the push button on his cello case annoys him, Joachim Fielder invents new locking systems. Whether it’s helmets, school satchels or holders for mobile phones – they are now conquering our everyday lives.

Mr. Fiedler, have you already invented something today?
Not today, but two days ago. It was a Sunday and we met the founder of outdoor manufacturer Vaude to discuss a new closure. I sat at the sewing machine in the morning and attached the fastener in a new way. It might not have been groundbreaking, but it was innovative. I think a lot of people are actually constantly inventing something. They just don’t call it that.
