Evelyn Huber with Gregor Hübner’s “Sirius Quartet” in the Lustspielhaus – Munich

How good that the harpist Evelyn Huber, pioneer of the non-classical use of her instrument, winner of the Bavarian Culture Prize and two-time Echo winner Quadro Nuevo, just wanted to take a few composition lessons to broaden her horizons. She did this with the violinist Gregor Hübner, who was responsible for this at the Munich Music Academy, and almost from the first moment it was clear that the collaboration between the two would go much further. The ideal vehicle for this was, of course, the American avant-garde Sirius Quartet by Hübner, who has been commuting between New York and Munich for many years, with Fung Chern Hwei on second violin, Sunjay Jayaram on viola and Jeremy Harman on cello.

The joint album “Para Un Mejor Mundo” was released in 2019, and even after the Corona break, things continued creatively in the spirit of a better (music) world. Now the five im comedy house present their latest exciting, always enjoyable mix of world music, minimal, jazz and impressionism.
