Ève Gilles acclaimed by the crowd during her stroll in Quaëdypre

Many fans were present at Quaëdypre to cheer Ève Gilles. This is the case of Lili and her mother who came from Belgium to cheer the new Miss France.

“I like misses and I especially wanted to see her in real life (…) She’s like a star, a bit for me, and I wanted to see her in real life,” declares the young girl.

“I am very happy to see her (…) to know that she is right next to us, that still does something,” she adds.

The crowd, very present for the return of Ève Gilles to Quaëdypre, surrounded the car of the new Miss France, making her movement difficult.

During this stroll, Ève Gilles continued to interact with her fans, greeting them and taking photos with them.

She was eagerly awaited. The new Miss France, Ève Gilles, presented herself around 3:30 p.m. in front of her audience. She came to accompany Cindy Fabre, president of the Miss France committee.

She was welcomed by her fans, but also by the municipal harmony. She then boarded a Sunbeam Alpine 2. Along the way, she signed a few autographs.

Ève Gilles arrived at the town hall of Quaëdypre (North). Miss France 2024 is making the final touches before meeting her audience here, who are extremely numerous on site.

“I had a feeling that it was going to be her, if only because of her personality and her haircut,” confided a local resident the day after the coronation of the 20-year-old young woman at BFM Grand Littoral.

“We are very proud of this young girl who grew up in our village, whom we saw frolicking along the roads, reports a resident. And today, she is on the podium, crowned Miss France. What a joy.”, continued this local resident.

Miss France 2024 is expected this afternoon in Quaëdypre, but it is a few kilometers from here in Bergues (North), that Ève Gilles succumbed to short hair.

Her coronation is a source of pride for the hairdresser who told BFM Grand Littoral that she received numerous calls since the coronation of Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais in the national election.

“It makes me happy because we made the beginning with her, now she has taken on her sponsors, they have also adapted the cut, which is normal, but it is still a source of pride,” underlines the artisan.

Ève Gilles parades this afternoon, from 3 p.m., in the streets of Quaëdypre aboard a Sunbeam Alpine 2. “Year 1961, convertible, double carburetor, 1,600 engine”, explains Jean-Bernard Duflot, a resident of Quaëdypre and member of a vintage car association.

“It’s a beautiful car. It’s the same car as James Bond in the film Doctor No from the 70s,” continues the enthusiast.

The car is specially prepared for Miss France 2024. The passenger seat has been removed so that Ève Gilles can stand and greet the crowd. “There is a rear seat so if she wants to sit, she can. But standing, holding on to the windshield, this will allow her to wave without problem,” concludes Jean-Bernard Duflot.

Ève Gilles’ visit this afternoon to Quaëdypre is “an exceptional event” for Jean-Claude Dekeister, the mayor.

“I had to wait 74 years to have a miss in my village,” recalls the elected official to BFM Grand Lille. “I’m not sure it will happen again so it’s worth marking with a blank cross.”

Miss France 2024 will have the honor of signing the town’s guestbook, announces Jean-Claude Dekeister.

The visit of Ève Gilles has somewhat shaken up the city’s program. Some events have been postponed to best accommodate the newly crowned village child. “Because it’s an important event for us,” he confides.

Ève Gilles is taking part this afternoon in a parade in the streets of the village where she comes from with vintage cars. The procession sets off from 3 p.m. from Quaëdypre town hall. The parade is expected to last half an hour.

A reception is organized at 5 p.m. at the village village hall to celebrate the crowning of the new beauty queen and child of the Country.

Municipal elected official Marie-Pierre Colpaert invites residents to “come in large numbers” to welcome her as she should in her home village.
