Evangelical Lutheran pastors marry couples who are spontaneous enough for the first time at Munich Airport. How the offer is accepted.
The fact that Munich isn’t Las Vegas after all dawns on those involved by lunchtime at the latest. Six pastors from the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery in Freising came to the airport that day to marry spontaneous couples in the St. Christopher’s Chapel there. “Just get married” is the name of the campaign, which offers weddings for last-minute people at 49 locations across Bavaria – “stress-free and without fanfare” and “on the wonderful date of April 24th, 2024,” as the regional church advertised in advance.
