Evan Ellingson (†35): Former child star from “24” and “CSI: Miami” dead

Evan Ellingson became famous as a child, appearing in films and hit series such as “24” and “CSI: Miami”. Now he died at just 35 years old.

Evan Ellingson was ten years old when he was discovered at a skate park and hired to appear in a commercial for the shoe brand Vans. The Californian with the blonde hair and bright blue eyes quickly attracted attention in Hollywood. In 2001, Evan Ellingson starred in his first blockbuster alongside Marcia Cross and Daniel Quinn.

Appearances in numerous film and television productions followed. The actor became famous above all for his role in the hit series “24”, in which he played the nephew of the main character Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). Evan Ellingson appeared alongside Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin in the film “My Sister’s Life”. From 2007 to 2010 he played the son of lead actor David Caruso in several seasons of the crime series “CSI: Miami”.

The teenager was predicted to have a great career at the time – but Evan Ellingson withdrew from show business. He hadn’t been in front of the camera for more than a decade. Now the actor died at the age of just 35.

As the coroner’s office at the Sheriff’s Office in San Bernardino County, California, confirmed to several US media outlets, Evan Ellingson was found lifeless in his bedroom on November 5th. The cause of death has not yet been determined after an initial autopsy. However, external influences can be ruled out.

Michael Ellingson told TMZ that his son was in a residential facility for addicts at the time of his death. Evan Ellingson has repeatedly struggled with drug problems in the past. He had been doing better recently, which is why his sudden death came as a big shock to the family.

In addition to his parents and a brother, the former child star also leaves behind his daughter Brooklynn, who was born in 2008.
