Disappointed by the number of points received following her performance on the title “Obviously”, the Quebec singer made a gesture resembling a middle finger, which shocked a lot. In Le Parisien, Marie Myriam, the last Frenchwoman to have won the competition, in 1977, spoke about this controversy, and did not mince her words.

And it was seen by nearly 200 million viewers. What a shame ! I am extremely disappointed because this is just not possible. She made this gesture seated in an armchair with French flags behind her. La Zarra denies giving the finger of honor
On social networks, La Zarra responded to the controversy this Sunday, denying having given the middle finger, saying that his gesture, a toz, rather expressed a “disappointment which means” whatever “that could be translated as “so be it”.
Explanations which did not seem to convince Marie Myriam, who insisted on underlining the lack of fair play of the Quebec singer: “Perhaps it would have been necessary to explain to her that she was not sure of arriving first. This is the principle of a competition. If we don’t want to lose, we don’t participate! By expressing her dissatisfaction, her disappointment, with this vulgar gesture, she put gray on her image, she who was all sunny with this red, this black, her magnificent hat, ”she concluded.
