Emma Hinze won the third gold medal for the German track cyclists at the European Championships in Munich.

One day after winning the team sprint title, the sprint world champion from Cottbus also won the decision in the 500 meter time trial. In the German record time of 52.668 seconds, the 24-year-old relegated the Ukrainian Olena Starikova to second place by 0.735 seconds.

Third was Miriam Vece from Italy in 53.837 seconds. Hinze had already set a German record of 32.732 seconds in qualifying and was the only competitor to remain under the 33-second mark. Pauline Grabosch (Germany) finished fifth in 33.684 seconds.

At the start of the track cycling competitions at the Munich Exhibition Center, the women’s foursome with Lisa Brennauer (Durach) and Mieke Kröger (Bielfeld) as well as Franziska Brauße (Öschelbronn) and Lisa Klein (Erfurt) won the title, as did the sprint trio Hinze, Grabosch and Lea Sophie Friedrich (Cottbus).
