The festivities which followed the coronation of the French team at the Euro handball championship, Sunday in Cologne (Germany), completely went off the rails as far as Benoît Kounkoud is concerned. The 26-year-old international was arrested during the night from Monday to Tuesday in Paris. He is suspected of rape in a nightclub in the 8th arrondissement of the capital. An investigation has been opened.
The right winger from Kielce (Poland) was taken into custody in the premises of the 1st Judicial Police District (DPJ) during the night from Monday to Tuesday. According to Current Values, who revealed the information, Kounkoud was drunk at the time of the incident. A security guard reportedly intervened after he pulled down his pants and sexually assaulted a young woman.
