Europa League – Rennes wins on the pitch of Panathinaikos (1-2) with goals from Gouiri and Kalimuendo

Rennes breathes. The players of the Breton club were able to keep their calm in a match that smelled of powder on the Panathinaikos pitch, Thursday evening, during the 3rd day of the group stage of the Europa League. Worried and dominated almost the entire match, SRFC was able to count on a solid defense which resisted the offensives of the excellent Fotis Ioannidis.

Thanks to goals from Amine Gouiri (7th) and Arnaud Kalimuendo (49th), Bruno Génésio’s men leave Athens with three points and take the lead in this group F (2-1). The return match will take place on November 9, at Roazhon Park, to potentially qualify for the knockout phase.
