Ethereum Name Service adds fiat payments for ENS domain registrations

Web3 users can now register decentralized .eth domains on the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) protocol, with fiat payment options now available, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as debit and credit cards.

ENS announced a new fiat on-ramp for domain registrations via MoonPay on April 20, where .eth domain registrations were previously paid for with Ether.

MoonPay’s services have been integrated into the ENS website, with the platform launching a user interface in version 3 to improve sign-ups. This page must be used with a digital wallet.

ENS founder Nick Johnson emphasizes the service’s commitment. To simplify the process of acquiring decentralized digital credentials, ENS allows users to map human-readable names. with machine-readable information such as cryptocurrency addresses and URLs.

“This helps us reach those who are new to this area. or those who are not yet comfortable with making transactions and want to use the currency and form of payment they understand best.”
