Estonia’s Prime Minister Kallas: “If the Ukrainians are not afraid of escalation, then we shouldn’t be either”

For Estonia, which borders Russia, the danger of Putin’s regime is very close. In conversation with the star Prime Minister Kaja Kallas praises Emmanuel Macron’s thinking out loud about Western ground troops in Ukraine – and also sees Germany as having more of a duty.

Presidential elections will take place in Russia in mid-March, but the winner has already been determined: Vladimir Putin. What significance does this election have for Europe?
This spectacle does not deserve the name election. But what comes next is an important question. There are difficult decisions to be made in Russia. Russia’s economy is in poor shape. The Kremlin must find ways to finance its war machine. That’s difficult when you can’t borrow money outside of Russia because of sanctions. So Putin has to come up with other solutions.
