ESC programs “Countdown” and “Aftershow”
These stars are there this year

The ESC final will take place on May 13th. In the first there is a “countdown” before the competition, followed by an “aftershow”.
For the grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 13, the two special programs “ESC – the Countdown” and “ESC – the Aftershow” will be broadcast on the first. This was announced by Norddeutscher Rundfunk on Monday. For this purpose, the broadcaster has brought prominent guests to the side, who are supposed to get the viewers in the mood for the ESC before the music competition.
These stars are part of the “Countdown” and the “Aftershow”.
Accordingly, singer and former ESC participant Max Mutzke (41), moderator Sylvie Meis (45), the Austrian ex-ESC star and composer Cesár Sampson (39) and the Swiss singer Luca Hänni (28), former “Let’s Dance” – and ESC candidate, together with moderator Barbara Schöneberger (49), get the audience in the mood live from Liverpool. It starts with the “countdown” at 8:15 p.m. both in the first and in the Austrian ORF 1 and the Swiss SRF 1.
“They talk about the most touching and surprising moments, the most unusual costumes and are reminiscent of the biggest anthems of the Eurovision Song Contest,” the broadcaster said in a statement. A “musical journey through time”, even “live and unplugged”, is also said to be planned. The participants from Germany (Lord of the Lost), Austria (Teya & Salena) and Switzerland (Remo Forrer, 21) will also be connected.
The final of the ESC follows from 9 p.m. As soon as the winner has been chosen, Barbara Schöneberger will report back with “ESC – the after show”. In it, the “glamorous moments” and the winning act are to be celebrated again.
Unusual venue
The final of the ESC will take place in Liverpool on May 13th. Great Britain has taken over this year’s hosting for last year’s winners, Ukraine. The Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra won last year, but the event was postponed due to security concerns and planning uncertainties due to the war in Ukraine.
