As always, the ESC final will be celebrated on TV. At the “Countdown for Turin” Barbara Schöneberger is looking forward to stars like Thomas Hermanns.

Music fans are looking forward to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 14th. As usual, there will be a big celebration on TV. Stars like Thomas Hermanns (59), Max Giesinger (33) and Johnny Logan (67) can be seen in the “Countdown to Turin” alongside presenter Barbara Schöneberger (48). The NDR announced on Tuesday.

The ESC experts

Comedian and moderator Thomas Hermanns moderated the German ESC preliminary round for many years. Together with him, Schöneberger will “reminisce about the great anthems, the most unusual costumes, the most touching and surprising moments of the Eurovision Song Contest,” says the show in advance.

Singer-songwriter Max Giesinger will remember some of the greatest German ESC songs that he wants to interpret exclusively. He also presents the song “Taxi” from his new album as a TV premiere.

Irish singer Johnny Logan won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1980 with his song “What’s Another Year”. In 1987 he competed again in Brussels with “Hold Me Now” and won again. Five years later he won the ESC as the composer and lyricist of the song “Why me?”, sung by Linda Martin for Ireland. In “ESC – Countdown für Turin” Johnny Logan presents his three legendary winning songs in a medley.

Malik Harris is also there

Another star guest for “Countdown for Turin” is to be announced at a later date. According to the broadcaster, the ESC experts want to get the viewers in the mood for the final of the competition from Turin in the live show. Malik Harris (24) will also be there: The German representative at this year’s ESC will be connected live from Turin and will report on how he is doing before the music competition and what the performance with his song “Rockstars” means to him.

The “ESC – Countdown for Turin” begins on Saturday, May 14, at 8:15 p.m. in the first. The final from Italy will follow live from 9:00 p.m. At 12:50 a.m., Barbara Schöneberger takes over again with the “ESC – Aftershow”.
