The rumor mill about the future of still-BVB star Erling Haaland continues to simmer. The usually well-informed TV station “Cuatro” claims to have found out that Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona. The 21-year-old attacker will move to the Catalans in the summer if the financially troubled club can raise the necessary money for the mega-transfer, according to the report.

It should therefore also be a decision by the goalscorer, “who loves Spain,” assured the broadcaster. Barca club boss Joan Laporta has set Haaland’s signing as his main goal for the summer transfer window, Cuatro writes. This is also very promising because Haaland’s agent and the president of the Catalan top club have a very close relationship. “Since they negotiated the commitment of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for FC Barcelona, there has been an unbreakable friendship between them,” said the TV station’s report.
The Norwegian initially considered a move to Real Madrid, but rejected this option because the capital club also wanted to bring the French star Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, great doubts remain as to whether Barcelona can really enter the competition for Haaland. The club has a horrific debt of 1.35 billion euros. Club boss Joan Laporta had not ruled out Haaland’s commitment in front of journalists on Monday. “Everything is possible,” assured the club boss, who has been in office since March 2021.
Despite the high debt, Barça had already signed the Spanish international striker Ferrán Torres a few days ago. For the 21-year-old, the Catalans Manchester City will transfer 55 million euros – plus performance-based bonuses of up to ten million euros – according to the media. “We’re back on the market and we’re still a reference,” assured Laporta.
