Dealing with an animal can hardly be more loving: In Erlangen, an unknown dog owner simply threw his husky over the fence of the animal shelter.

It is not known who the husky, who has been staying at the Erlangen animal shelter for a few days, lived with before. But there are some reasons to suspect that the previous owner didn’t show the bitch much affection.

This is supported by the way the animal in the Animal shelter “was given”: According to an employee, it was “simply thrown over the fence”. Previously, an attempt had apparently been made to break an opening in the fence. There was also damage. “Several pieces of the fence broke off, at some point they probably noticed that they couldn’t really break it and just threw them over somewhere else,” zoo keeper Tim Schwarz reported to the local portal “infranken.de”.

Animal shelter enthusiastic about new resident

The “Nürnberger Nachrichten” had previously reported on the incident. The employees at the animal shelter in the Franconian city have now taken in the husky lady and called her “Lola”. Obviously, the previous owner no longer wanted the animal – one can only speculate about the reasons. “Unfortunately, we don’t know much about her. She knows basic commands, is calm and peaceful,” explains Schwarz.

The careless treatment of the animal makes him angry: “It just doesn’t work,” says the animal keeper. “Nothing surprises me anymore these days.” According to Schwarz, a longer stay in an animal shelter is “always difficult for huskies because they become more conspicuous over time and sometimes start howling”. Nevertheless, the employees at the Erlangen animal shelter are enthusiastic about the new resident. Lola is a “piece of sugar” and a “icing on the cake”.
