Erlangen: Could the murder of Shlomo Lewin have been prevented? – Bavaria

A previously unknown document shows: Six days before the crime, an informant from the Bavarian Office for the Protection of the Constitution met members of the Hoffmann Wehrsportgruppe when they were making silencers for a weapon. The SPD demands clarification from the state government.

The case dates back almost 43 years and still there are more unanswered questions than answers. One of the few certainties: On the evening of December 19, 1980, the rabbi and publisher Shlomo Lewin and his girlfriend Frida Poeschke were shot in their bungalow in Erlangen. No one was convicted of the double murder. New revelations could now help clarify the case.
