The far-right presidential candidate Eric Zemmour explained on Tuesday that he was afraid of not obtaining the 500 sponsorships of elected officials required to be able to stand for election. “It is possible that I will not obtain sponsorships as the system is designed to protect the major parties”, he denounced in a video posted on social networks before calling on the mayors of France to “give the word to millions of French people ”and not to“ let this election be stolen ”.

“The last hope of my opponents is that I do not get my sponsorships”, argued Eric Zemmour, recalling that “many mayors” had nevertheless already granted him their promise.

A few hours after his declaration of candidacy on Youtube, Tuesday, November 30, the former columnist said on TF1 to be able to rely on “200 to 250 sponsorship promises”. “It is not an easy task when you do not have an established party”, recalled in this video the recent founder of the “Reconquest” party which today claims nearly 60,000 members.
