Even if he is cautious about the new excavations undertaken to find the body of his daughter who disappeared in 2003, the father of Estelle Mouzin welcomes the “real progress” in the investigation for two years. The research currently being carried out in the Ardennes “is made on the basis of the statements of the indicted [Michel Fourniret et Monique Olivier], who continue their work of perversion by giving erroneous information, voluntarily or because of their state of health, ”said Eric Mouzin in an interview with Sunday Newspaper.
His daughter Estelle, then aged 9, disappeared on January 9, 2003 when she was returning from school in Guermantes in Seine-et-Marne. What Michel Fourniret and Monique Olivier “say is to be taken with the greatest caution. It is up to the examining magistrate to assess that, and then to commit the necessary means, which are very important each time, ”he adds.
“We are very happy with his work since [que Sabine Kheris] took charge of the case in September 2019. For the first time, the investigation is structured, and we note real progress, ”he continues. “Each time we are told of new investigations, we are delighted because we are moving forward on the path to find Estelle”, adds Eric Mouzin. “I am sure that Ms. Kheris’ methods will benefit everyone.”

Eighteen years after the disappearance of his daughter, Eric Mouzin confides that his “car is ready” in the event of a phone call announcing the discovery of Estelle’s body. “In the face of horror, I want, that’s all. The serial killer Michel Fourniret ended up confessing in March 2020 his responsibility in this case and was then indicted for “kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death”. A new series of excavations began on April 6 in Issancourt-et-Rumel, a village in the Ardennes 4 km from Ville-sur-Lumes, where, according to Monique Olivier, her ex-husband kidnapped, raped and killed Estelle Mouzin, in a house belonging to his sister.
