He leaves for a fourth term, with 56.33% of the vote, and undoubtedly reinforced ambitions for the next municipal elections in the fifth largest city in France. “The Macron system has collapsed, including in Nice. The opportunists lost, ”reacted the very right-wing 56-year-old parliamentarian, ex-candidate for the LR presidential nomination. “Tonight is the defeat of Christian Estrosi and the defeat of Nicolas Sarkozy too”, he also launched.
Eric Ciotti, who had not been opposed to a candidate Reconquest! in this constituency which occupies the center of the capital of the Riviera and whose results were eagerly awaited on Sunday evening, did not wait for the counting of all the ballots. “I am happy to announce my re-election. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the people of Nice for their tremendous loyalty, ”he tweeted at 8:35 p.m., before going to his HQ located at the port of Nice, where he also congratulated Christelle d’Intorni, elected in the 5th district of the department, against “the opposing camp has committed colossal means”.

On the set of BFM TV, the candidate Reconquest! beaten in the first round in the 3rd constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes commented on “the defeat of Christian Estrosi in Nice”, “the rejection of his municipal policy”, and even addressed a serious appeal with his foot “to all those who undoubtedly share a trunk of common ideas “in view of the next municipal elections. “Let’s talk, maybe tomorrow let’s work together. We can delight the town hall of Nice from the estrosist center-left, ”he said.
And as the walls surely had ears, Christian Estrosi was quick to react, from the steps of the town hall. The city councilor praised the campaign of Graig Monetti who had to face “all the extremes which had met from the first round on the outgoing deputy and who, this evening, have also reconfirmed wanting to work with him”.
“It is a position that[Eric Ciotti] has never denied, “said the mayor of Nice, who passed from LR to the municipal majority in May 2021. According to him, the LR deputy would have “definitely committed to transgressing this red line whose limits Jacques Chirac had clearly set. never to cross” between the right and the extreme right.
