In Germany, more electronic devices were processed in 2020, a total of 899,300 tons. That was 11.2 percent more than in 2019, the Federal Statistical Office announced on Friday in Wiesbaden. The recycling rate increased slightly by 1.3 percentage points to 86.7 percent. Only 1.9 percent of all devices accepted were made reusable in whole or in part, for example through repairs. SPD, Greens and FDP have announced a “right to repair” in the coalition agreement.
