According to Fridays for Future, Herbert Grönemeyer and the band Silbermond are coming to Hamburg for the climate strike on September 15th. “We are between “under water” and extreme droughts. It is important to act now, immediately,” demanded Grönemeyer in an announcement by Fridays for Future.

The musicians want to perform on the stage at Jungfernstieg to support the movement in its demand for a climate-friendly future. “In order to continue to make a difference against the climate crisis, we have to continue to be loud. But above all, we have to do it together and take each other along in society,” Silbermond made clear.

Next Friday, the climate movement wants to take to the streets again around the world. Demonstrations are planned in more than 200 locations in Germany. “The current debate about climate protection is increasingly polarizing society and raises the question for many people as to how we can still achieve our climate goals,” said spokeswoman Annika Rittmann. “In these times of uncertainty, we are bringing people together on the streets and demanding together from the government a vision and a long overdue plan for a climate policy that actually promises a fair, shared and better future.”
