Germany – England live today: the end is getting closer

Germany are 2-0 down at half-time against England in their last group game and are miles away from grasping the last straw as they head towards the quarter-finals. The DFB-Elf is inferior to the Young Lions in every respect and is partially demonstrated defensively. The English are faster, more willing to play and more determined than almost all DFB players and they deservedly lead with goals from Archer and Elliott.

At some point Germany got into the game better offensively and created a few good chances, but Schade and Co.’s exploitation of chances was weak, as in the previous games. After the change, Antonio Di Salvo’s team need at least three goals to still have a theoretical chance of progressing. It’s hard to believe after the first half, though.

Germany – England live today: DFB team must win

After the 1-1 draw against Israel (TO THE HIGHLIGHTS) and the 1-2 defeat against the Czech Republic (TO THE HIGHLIGHTS), the German U21 national team must win against unbeaten England if they are to make it into the quarter-finals. Germany is third in Group C with just one point and must hope that the Czech Republic does not win against Israel at the same time.

Antonio Di Salvo, coach of the German team, still believes in the quarter-finals despite the unfavorable starting position: “I believe in it, because anything is possible in football. We will do everything we can to beat England, that’s the only thing we can do in the have a hand. But I have the imagination that it will work out with progress.”

The English selection under coach Lee Carsley, on the other hand, is already top of the group with two wins from the first two games.
