Energy costs – EnBW increases gas prices – economy

Gas customers of the energy supplier EnBW face significantly higher costs. The company increased gas prices by almost 35 percent, according to data on Monday. The reason is the Ukraine war, which has further aggravated the difficult situation on the international energy markets. Even before the Russian attack on the country, procurement prices were at record levels, it said. “Although the prices have fallen again somewhat since then, the price level remains very high and a drop is currently not foreseeable.” The price increase in the basic service that will apply from July 1 is in line with the current average market environment. The supplier had already increased the prices at the turn of the year. On the other hand, EnBW customers once again have to spend less on electricity. The elimination of the EEG surcharge will be passed on to consumers in full on July 1st. According to the information, this reduces the electricity costs in the basic supply for household electricity by a good twelve percent and for heat electricity by almost 19 percent.
