End of the tank discount: Oil companies defend themselves against criticism

The tank discount has expired and fuel is more expensive again. Criticism rained down heavily on the tax measure, and the mineral oil companies in particular took a hit. They are now going on the offensive in terms of communication.

The tank discount was passed on to motorists – at least that’s what the association of mineral oil companies en2x preaches these days. There are always doubts about the statement: most recently on the night of September 1st, when the discount expired and the prices at the gas station immediately went up. Some people were surprised by this, as at the beginning of June there was still talk of expensive petrol and diesel that was still in the tanks and the tax cut was therefore only noticed a little later.
