End of the strike at Keolis Meyer and normal resumption of bus traffic

The social movement ends at Keolis Meyer. Management and unions of the carrier reached an agreement on Monday to end a strike which had disrupted the bus network in the south of Essonne for more than a week.

“This Monday, October 24, the management of Keolis Meyer and the trade unions found and finalized an agreement which put an end to the social movement in Essonne”, indicated a spokesperson for the group. As a result, “traffic resumed normally” on Monday.

The network completely blocked last Thursday

The strike had been going on since October 13. Some of the employees had caused the complete paralysis of the network on Thursday by blocking a depot which serves a large area in Essonne: from north to south for about 25 kilometers, from Massy to Avrainville, and from west to east for about twenty kilometers, from Ulis to Grigny. A line takes travelers to Paris (Porte d’Orléans).

The employees demanded in particular a salary increase before the merger of Keolis Meyer with Transdev. The agreement reached on Monday covers a 3% increase in wages, retroactive from September, explained Anis Rafa, Force Ouvrière (FO) delegate, quoted by Le Parisien.
