After taking out, to everyone’s surprise, Laslo Djere, Holger Rune and Tallon Griekspoor, the Frenchman logically lost to the Pole this Monday (7-6, 7-6, 6-4), in the round of 16 of the Australian Open.
Before the Australian fortnight, Cazaux had never won a Grand Slam match and was the last Frenchman competing in the men’s draw. In the quarter-finals, Hurkacz will challenge world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev, who won against the other surprise of the fortnight, Portuguese Nuno Borges.
